I have 16 years of experience working in the field ranging in various capacities with youth, adults, families, and the LGBTQ Community. My style is working from a compassionate framework that validates your unique experience, while offering guidance to get unstuck from habitual patterns that can be hurtful to yourself or others. In addition to traditional talk therapy and skills building, I often incorporate experiential methods of mindfulness techniques, meditation, artistic expression, and Sandplay Therapy.
I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
Sandplay Therapy - I completed a year-long advanced training group and continue to work toward certification. (www.sandplay.org)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - I worked as part of a DBT team for 2.5 years learning and teaching the skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Additional interest and training in Mindfulness, grief and loss, fertility challenges, prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum issues, LGBTQ issues, and anti-oppression work with a focus on the intersections of racism, sexism, ablism, and homo/transphobia.
